In my email this morning, I found this missive from the National Council for the Social Studies:

24250bbf-0fb5-4750-bded-853014aa88fdNational Council for the Social Studies is looking for qualified educators who are attending the 2014 NCSS Annual Conference to participate in a free ongoing professional learning project. This project is designed to support educators in using the College, Career, and Civic Life (C3) Framework for Social Studies State Standards to meet the goals of the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts.

In partnership with the National Center for Literacy Education, NCSS will provide professional learning, tools, and resources to support 50 teams of middle level and high school teachers from across the nation.Team facilitators will  receive a $400 honorarium to toward their attendance at the NCSS Annual Conference.

To qualify as a team, each team must include at least 3 people who will agree to meet regularly to share learning and participate in online professional support. A team might be as large as a school, a district social studies department, or a state level network.

The deadline to apply is October 31!
